- Helped solve a major production problem for JV injection molded plastic business, enabling the plant to come back into production prior to shutting down the customer. (Dec. 1994)
- Managed plant/business/customer team to solution of major contamination problem in the Miniature Downlighting Business. Net result to the business: $1MM/yr cost reduction and increased market share. (Nov. 1993 - Nov. 1994).
- Provided the statistical support for a process improvement team to solve a major production problem in a developing business. Resulted in 33% process improvement and a $3.8MM cost savings to the business.(Jan. 1993 - Nov. 1993).
- Completed Monte Carlo simulations necessary to allow Corning and AT&T to reach agreement on product specifications for the Components Products Business. Resulted in AT&T paying Corning $600,000 for further development (Jul. 1992 - Dec. 1992).
- Solved major contamination problem on a reflective surface glass product resulting in a product price decrease of 17%. Developed a new technology for a manufacturing process step. This produced a 99% reduction in cycle time and the eradication of a defect caused by the old process.
- Implemented a radically new operating philosophy for the melting department to solve a 14-year glass quality defect. Defects were reduced by 75% resulting in cost savings to the plant of $250M/yr.
- Facilitated the development of a self-managed work team that achieved first place status for cleanliness and visual quality at Bausch & Lomb, earned Supplier of the Year status from GTE Sylvania/Winchester, and improved product quality by 50%.(Jan. 1989 - Jul. 1992).
